You can download the free player add-in from Microsoft or the parent website, you only need to purchase it if you want to edit. Plays .avi and .wmv files nicely. You will have to upgrade to QuickTime 6.1.5 or later if you don't have it. Peter

i discover this morning that one of my macs doesn't boot, but just keeps showing me the grey apple logo. if i try to boot it in safe mode by holding down the shift key, it just ends up giving me a circle with a line through it. Try holding down cmd-S to force it into single-user mode. That makes it a whole lot more chatty about what's going on. -- Jim
