I did em in the car.  Jus wackem wit da BFH and dey pop out. 
Squeeze the new'un in wit da HF C clamp press and a pipe.


These are out, so I may pay someone with a press to change em.

124s are easy.  the 126well, I have no idea how i can do that 
without the Rusty tool kit.  With the Rusty tool kit, it was easy.




Yabut my method left the LCA mounted, no spring compressor required.

The way I have seen it done is to put the arm in a big vise, put a ball 
peen hammer (round end) on the bottom of the BJ then whack the ball peen 
hammer with a BFH.  Heat would probably help to loosen it.  Take it to 
an indy who has the proper MB press to make the reinstall easy and pay 
them $20.

Oh what fun, lower ball joints!  Do you have the correct tools / presses to
extract and install?  Last two that I did, I heated the LCA knuckle to
point it was just starting to faintly glow in my dark garage, and then
pressed it out, using the Hazard Fraught cheapo massive C-clamp press and a
custom adapter that a friend with a machine shop made for me from a short
piece of pipe.  That worked pretty well.  I think that I rented the press
to push the new joints in.

Took the POSitive out for a drive tonight.  Probably about 100 to 120 
miles.  It performed well.   This was the longest drive since the 
Diesel Kleen started to cut loose the soy oil polymer tank lining and 
cause massive fuel filter pluggin, resulting in the tank coming out 
and a week of cleaning.  I can tell though that after I finish 
redoing the rear suspension i will need to start on the front.  I'd 
guess it has a bad ball joint.


The fact that it was flawless on the road was good news, as was the 
unexpected fact that the sunroof works well and correctly.  Two
