There is no such thing as "regular old plastic". There are thousands of
different formulations.

Yes, I believe they are. If you’re wiping it down with 303 afterwards you’re 
fine.

Anyway, up here in the frozen north dashes don't crack. The only cracked dash 
cars I've had came from the south.

 The trick with paper towels is to not be stingy. I get the windshield good and 
wet, then use one towel to smear the windex all around and pick up the goo. 
Then three or four more to get all the windex off.
I save the wet towels to clean the dash and such...

I got a bundle of those yellow microfiber towels at Costco as well. Use them 
all over the place.

I use some sort of aerosol foamy glass cleaner, as that’s what’s recommended by 
my window film guys. It’s not expensive and it does a great job, never streaks 
like Windex. I’ll see what it’s called and post it. I think I get it at Wally 
World.

The German g;ass cleaner is the best.  Wipe on, let dry, then wipe off the
film.

I drove the 300SD today. Before I took it out I gave it a wash and then cleaned 
the glass as it was kinda grimy, I have not really driven it much. Used Windex 
then wiped down with a microfiber cloth. WOW!!!  No streaks, all the grime off, 
glass looked really amazing. I usually use paper towels and they must leave 
some residue or don’t really clean but smear the grime around as I can always 
see streaks. I was driving into the sun and the 37yo glass looked almost like 
new. It was really quite surprising.
