The earliest R107s had the battery under the hood - it was moved to the
trunk to make room for the ACC. I don't know much about the earlier cars
other than the W115 chassis.

[MBZ] The 560 SL

I am curious as to the fuel requirements of the SL series.. I know that the old 
450's take regular as does the 380's to 1984. What is the octane rating of the 
others I have been seeing many other SL's through like 1998 and would like to 
know the rating of these cars.

I cannot find it on the net.
