[MBZ] This clk500

2023-04-14 Thread Kaleb Striplin via Mercedes
Perhaps I don’t have the stamina to deal with this car, or maybe it’s lack of
desire but I’m not going to mess with it too much longer before I dump it. It
powers up just fine but will not crank. SDS also will not connect to the engine
control module. I checked the 3 fuses listed as engine electronics as well as 3
that were listed as start enable. 1 was bad and replaced it but otherwise good.
SDS says to check for 12v to the k line of the module, got to figure out which
one that is. I suspect either the module is not getting power so will not
crank, or the module is dead. It also has some strange codes for a bunch of
other models and the transmission module related to oil sensor I think and
something related to starter lockout in the valve body or conductor plate.
Maybe that is the issue but not being able to read the engine module is an
issue for sure.

In other words, it’s possible this car is an electrical nightmare. I’m not too
impressed with the build quality so I may be dumping it soon. Could be a simple
issue but not sure how much longer I want to deal with it.
