Re: [MBZ] Today's CL Finderer
Did some research on BW and found that this is not an uncommon problem for the 722.3/4/5 transmissions. Seems that they use a combination of vacuum and throttle position to delay upshifts (sound familiar, diesel owners?) There is a vacuum valve and relay that do this, and one or both are often the culprit along with possibly breaks or leaks in the related vacuum lines. With this in mind I think I'll have a look see today if I can track down the seller. Thanks, Hendrick. >From the PP posts it sounds like there is a solenoid that controls the Upshift >from 3rd gear that may be wonky. I'm going to do some searching to see if I can find out more on this issue... Re: [MBZ] Today's CL Finderer
Pretty sure it's the crappy 722.5 box, essentially a 722.4 with electronic overdrive but not as robust as the 722.4 http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/6719-1995-s320-transmission-problem.html however for that sort of money you can't go too far wrong, Klebby will probably give you 500 for it, if all else fails.
