We've got a weed eater at camp with a 3 bladed cutter on it. Its a straight shaft professional series Husqvarna with a harness so you carry the weight on your shoulders rather than in your arms. With the harness properly adjusted I can run it for hours without getting overly tired. Its one that Uncle Reg bought in the mid-'90s I think and still runs great. The DR trimmer mower was the original. My mom bought one of the first Craftsman knockoffs. It's good on decent terrain, but trying to wrestle a string trimmer on a 45 degree slope when it has a 5hp Briggs engine on it is not fun. For wide swaths, get a wheeled trimmer. A bit spendy, but for a vast estate such as yours, with lots of stuff to clear up between cars and fence rows, the pay back for having good equipment would come sooner rather than later.. Weed whacker / string trimmer stuff drives you nuts just keeping string in one, if you are covering more than a city lot.
