[MBZ] Winding Road Internet Magazine
Howdy - The latest issue of this ever-improving, free, internet-based magazine has been released for downloading. This magazine now has David E Davis as publisher (for a while now actually), formerly publisher of Automobile and Car & Driver. Mr. Davis' presence has seen the magazine grow from fewer than 60 pages to over 120 pages. I can only assume they are receiving a fair amount of income from online advertising because the subscription is free. Also, you'll find just something for everyone although the emphasis is on sports cars - depending on your definition of what a sports car is. ;-) But you'll find Ferrari's, Porsche's, Lamboghini's, Mercedes' and lots of other stuff. Something for everyone. Anyway, take a look at http://windingroad.com/ to see the latest issue - and download if desired. Tim wrote:<quality.>> Howdy - Yep, it's amazing quality for a free publication. Although, I suspect the "Free" part may change at some point. If you look at the Back Issues you'll see the size of the magazine has grown enormously. And with the addition of DE Davis they have entered "The Big Time" at least in the eyes of other publications. Advertising has grown quite a bit also. I may be wrong about charging for issues - their cost to publish is pretty low - zero paper, ink, printing costs, very low distribution costs leaving the bulk of the budget for employees and purchasing articles and photographs. The "Winding Road" articles are pretty neat - featuring readers favorites roads for driving on with sports cars - I need to go bak and re-read them as it;s been a while.
