Re: [MBZ] Window switch primer
just looked at a 2001 ML320 today where the RR rear switch would not raise the window but the front switch did. Maybe it's a newer design. [MBZ] Window switch primer
Hey, remind me whether the power window circuit requires both switches to be fully operational in order for the window to function. I don't have my CD manual with me, so I can't check the diagram. The motor works, but I can't get the switches to initiate action. I think there might be some funky wiring in the bellows where they run through the door. Re: [MBZ] Window switch primer
You either need to take the switches apart (do it in a plastic bag so when the parts fly all over they are contained) and clean them, or CHANGE YOUR FUSES! One fuse operates cross-opposite windows. The actual wiring is not clear as there are 3 or 4 wires going to each switch and some of them are common (power on the cross windows). I tried tracing them once and gave up, it might be in the manual somewhere though. The switches get all gunked up, a good cleaning restores functionality (usually). --R Zeitgeist wrote: Hey, remind me whether the power window circuit requires both switches to be fully operational in order for the window to function. Re: [MBZ] Window switch primer
So, one bad switch will cause a non-functioning situation--is that right? Yes, either front or rear switch being bad will prevent the associated rear window from operating. Well then, I'd best take them apart--bummer.
