After replacing the original neutral safety switch in my '84 300D, I 
thought I'd open up the original one and see if there was something 
obvious I could do to repair it and keep it as a spare.  Anyone BTDT?

Me.  Drilled out the rivets, opened it.  (Naturally I CLA'd it and
reassembled, and it's on the car now.  No more blown fuses.  One of
the leaf contacts was bit loose.  Shoe Goo to the rescue!)  See:
