Re: [MBZ] cloudy headlight lenses

2009-05-11 Thread drcscruggs
I polished the cloudiness on my 96 300d with 1000 grit wet, 2000 wet, and
finished up with Kit brand?"scratch out" clear coat scratch remove (in yellow
bottle that I got @ Wally's large box store).? Worked pretty well too. I did
all by hand, I think if I had used a buffer, would have been better (have to
avoid heat build up for the plastic lenses tho I understand).? Good luck

Picked up the parts for the front end brake job on the '88 300E. There was
only one sensor. The guy said, some systems only use one, some two. He
looked it up in the book when he placed the order for me. Anyone know
before I get it all apart, if there should be two wear sensors ?? Seems
common sense to me that one on each wheel, but I've seen funnier things. lol

Thanks.

promise

2009-05-10 Thread Rich Thomas
I have read that using toothpaste (not the gel stuff but something with
some grit in it) to polish them up works about as well as anything, but
have not tried it, so wouldn't know. I saw some car show where the guy
used some package of stuff that basically seemed to be sandpaper up to
like 6000grit, wet sanding then a final buffing, on an old plastic rear
glass or something from some old car. It came out pretty well.

Seems
common sense to me that one on each wheel, but I've seen funnier

[MBZ] cloudy headlight lenses

2009-05-09 Thread Dwight E. Giles, Jr
I am wondering if anyone has used any of the products out there that promise
to restore remove cloudiness, yellow, tec. The 124 needs clearer lenses and
the plastic surrounds on the 123 could use some renewing. Or there are
places that advertise-some magic air thing, etc??

TIA,

Dwight
