FYI All, I would say that the below site makes the skinnerbox site obsolete since all the skinnerbox site does is to serve the pdfs, slowly I might add. Using the below link you can download *ALL* of them to your hard drive at once in a few zip files then use the web based interface to access them. Trying to open this I get 550 Passive mode not allowed on this server. I am using Mozilla Firefox. Is this just a setting to get to this site? Unlike Internet Exploder, I'm unaware of any option in FireFox to change between passive and active FTP transfers. So, either use IE, or use an actual FTP program instead of a web browser. WS_FTP is great, so is CuteFTP, and there are tons of free FTP clients out there. -- John L. Ervine 1981 240D 4-spd 265+kmi 1980 300TD 163+kmi 1980 300SD 277+kmi

I don't understand. I tried opening explorer and pasting in the ftp. then added ws and still no go. Can you give me more information, or steer me in the direction to learn what to do? I do not get it. Steve David Brodbeck [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Trying to open this I get 550 Passive mode not allowed on this server. I am using Mozilla Firefox. I don't think Firefox supports active mode, and the person who hosts that site has disabled passive mode. If you're running Windows, WSFTP is one option. __ Switch to Netscape Internet Service. WS_FTP: http://www.ipswitch.com/downloads/index.html CuteFTP: http://www.cuteftp.com/products/ftp_clients.asp Grab one of those and use it to access the site, instead of a web browser.

Doing that forces IE into active FTP, regardless of the whether the box for Use Passive FTP is checked or not. Better yet, get a real FTP client: http://www.download.com/3150-2160_4-0-1-0.html?qt=author=titlename=desc=dlcount=daysback=swlink=gfiletype=os=128li=49dlsize=ca= And in case that linewraps: http://tinyurl.com/b7jy6 -- John L. I have tried to use smartFTP, ipswitch WS_FTP, and internet explorer w/the ftp box checked and still no luck. Do I type in the full address, ftp://Diesel:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ and then hit go? I did this in ipswitch WS-FTP and it did not connect to the server. Same thing with internet explorer. Additionally, if I have smartFTP open, and I click on the link, it tries to open the server but fails. What else could be wrong? In WS_FTP, you may need to break up that URL and enter the pieces separately. For the hostname (or server, I forget what WS_FTP calls it) put: telshena.dyndns.org For the username, put: Diesel For the password, put: diesel
