Sold $13k. I didn't notice it had 93k, which is kinda high for BAT, especially
for a convertible.

This is his user name on eBay:

mschoen954

His name is Craig. Great guy, sells excellent seat covers that are very
competitively priced. He pulls them from cars in the knackers, takes good
leather from places like back seats, and uses that to replace the bad/worn
panels.

I’ve gotten several sets of seat and armrest covers from him and always been
very pleased.

Estimate retail is $10k?

I think not. That one isn’t worth $4k with the damage it has.

Ok guys, who is the expert? I am not even sure how the convertible top is
supposed to operate.

I'm also going to need help diagnosing the non-running engine (1995 E320).
Story is that about two years ago, the fuel pump was bad. Could this be a
simple relay problem?

thanks Mitch, I don't have the car in my hands yet, but I need to start
getting smart and gathering info. Is the fuel pump relay under the hood?
I'm pretty sure I saw the fuel pump under the car in the area forward of
the right rear tire.

Re: [MBZ] 124 Cab Info?

2016-08-07 Thread Mitch Haley via Mercedes
Dead fuel pumps aren't uncommon, but dead (or intermittent) fuel pump relays are
way too common in 124 and 201 chassis.

In my '86 W201, it was the relay, which worked fine for the first five minutes
or so. Drove me nuts until I finally went to check the relay and found a piece
of wire wrapped around it that I used to bypass the relay. Oh, I'm not the first
person who had that problem with this car... (that's a pretty good idea in
general, know which terminals to jump and keep a jumper wire in the car and
you're less likely to be stranded somewhere)

Since high RPM 4 cylinder relays for my 16v were expensive new and rare used, I
bought a used 300e relay which has been working fine for the last 10 years, but
effectively has no RPM limit because a 4 cylinder only gives the relay 2/3 the
ignition signal of a 6 cylinder.

In my '99 S210, it was the pump. I bought a used one off eBay for about $40. It
was supposed to be a match for my car, but the electrical terminals were
different so it required a little extra work.
