The component leads can oxidize such that the solder doesn't want to stick very well. I just went thru the board again. I found a couple of points that I redid that were light on the solder. I also found a spot where some loose solder flakes might have potentially been connecting 2 points. I double checked to make sure I had the polarity correct on the caps. Tomorrow I am going to run thru the test procedure for the actuator then give it another shot. I might just start sending the things to that dude on peach parts that fixes them. I would not be such a big deal if I could just replace the caps and it be fixed, but often times you have to go thru the entire board which is a pain in the ass. How confident are you that you did a good job the first time? Maybe take some pix front of board and back, put them up on Google Drive or someplace where Craig and Jim can take a look and give you a grade for your work so far. If you think you could do better, take another crack at it. I took it for a longer drive probably 15 miles or so and it does seem to be doing as described. Sometimes it does seem like it holds speed longer then eventually starts to drop. I would make sure the stalk has been cleaned well, that is, the switch part.
