Because I’m a cheap ass and want to make some cash off the deal, so I am on the 
fence about getting it fixed at a shop (assuming it’s not totaled) or keeping 
the cash. At the end of the day I want to extract as much money as possible out 
of these people. I guess my neck might start hurting. Maybe I should hire a 
shister lawyer and show up in a neck collar.

You've got enough going on. Let the shop fix it properly, and let her insurance 
pay for a rental while your car is being repaired. If they want to total it, in 
my experience their offer will be more than fair. I'd take it and move on. It's 
only a car.
