Yes, a 2006 has a straight six engine, very robust and low maintenance. 2008 is a Bluetech engine but doesn't use DEF. 2009 and up uses DEF. '08 and up is the same engine that is in the Sprinter. Wilton has a '07 he can tell you more about that engine. I've had mine for 15 mts and really enjoyed it. Russ W. Main reasons to avoid 2003-2006 W211s are the timing chains on the gassers and the electronic power brakes. MBUSA has disavowed all responsibility for the chain drives, but I believe they recently extended coverage on the brakes to 20 years or so.
