yes, HF sells the black ones too. they are more money for half as many
in a box.I have found that the napa ones or medical supply ones do
pretty well. THey are maybe 50% more $ than the HF ones on sale, but
you use maybe half as many.

I have used a few of the black ones too. They are nice to have on
hand for stuff that you know will tear the smurf ones.

That's what I do also. A pair of the thiner blue ones and then a pair
of the thicker black ones. That way if I have to do something cleaner
I can get the black dirty gloves off easily and then back on again for
more dirty work. Usually by the time I'm done both pairs are all torn
up and my hands have some dirt on them but still a lot easier to clean.

I've never used the HF ones, I get em at FLAPS. The gloves are halfway between
crap and critical...
Super good when working with fuel though, keeps the stink off, or at least
minimized.

I like them. I use the blue nitrile ones, also from HF. I buy them by the 100
box and replace as needed; because they rip easy. There is no faster or more
effective way to get clean hands after working on oily, sooty Diesel stuff.
They are indispensable for working with polysulfide, like POR 15. These gloves
give me better grip than bare skin with little loss of touch feel. They wipe
fairly clean with a paper towel when gooky. My main problem was sweat,
especially when I lived in FL. The gloves would fill with water and drip in my
face when working overhead.

Kaleb, I think gloves are the way to go. I buy the nitrile gloves in boxes of
100. I think it’s called Black Raven or something like that, and you can get
them at O’reilly’s or on Amazon Prime. Last batch I bought was O’Reilly’s and
they were on sale. They hold up pretty well, and they’re cheap enough that you
don’t mind throwing them away.

Glove up! Always. Have done it for years, even before it was popular. Waste
oil is carcinogenic, and while I’ve certainly been exposed to enough chemicals
over the years to trigger a cancerous reaction of some kind, I figure it’s
cheap insurance to cut down the odds, or at least delay things. Not to mention
that I don’t have to scrub my arms, hands and fingernails raw to get myself
clean when I’m done.

And God how I detest that orange crap.

2016-12-18 Thread Curt Raymond via Mercedes
I've never used the HF ones, I get em at FLAPS. The gloves are halfway between
crap and critical...
Super good when working with fuel though, keeps the stink off, or at least
minimized.

Something you can do to make hand clean up easier after working on your car is
to put some heavy moisturizer on beforehand. Grease will have less to stick to.
