Actually, if you have the FAC or whatever they call it now - PAL ?? - I think
you can import shells, powder, and
non restricted guns fairly easily. We were in ND on last Monday and one of the
brochures my wife picked up at the
Cdn border on the way back in was about importing guns - the other was about
importing cars. She was reading me the
details while we drove back to Winnipeg.

Good point about Canada. If they don't have dirt cheap shotgun shells in
every Walmart and sporting goods store up there, you sure don't want
to cross the border with a case of ammo in an attempt to save a few $$.
Curt likes MEC, I find a Lee Load-All to be plenty adequate for $40-50.

You might want to get in touch with my buddy Fred from Alberta. I don't know
if he reloads shotgun shells, he's sure to know more about the Canadian aspects
than I do, and he's reloaded a hundred times more rifle ammo than I have:

They said they would only sell guns at selected stores, ammo and supplies at
most stores and nothing gun related at some stores.

We have 3 fairly close - 1 has rifles and shotguns and all 3 sell ammo.

MEC get yours at gander Mountain or find a used reloader on
craigslist. Herters used to be good too.

Only thing that ever made me nervous was setting the

that's maybe the main reason i doubt i'll ever leave the south. in much of
the US, the idea is that the criminals can be armed to the teeth and you
must submit to this as you cannot take the law into your own hands and the
citizens just lap it up and beg for more abuse (and they get it!). in the
south, your right to self preservation is understood even by the
government.

the south has always been and remains the home of freedom in the USA.

Ahh I forgot you were in Canada.

In which case it might be worth pricing out reloading. A good reloader (Mec is
a very popular brand) should be a couple hundred used, powder, primers, shot.
Figure what you need for each load and then find out if its cheaper to buy
pre-loaded.

I think I would rather that the hoodlums have to buy guns from each other in
alleys than just be able to go to a
local store and stock up.

Yes, it is a good thing that only the criminal element can buy guns. Otherwise
their jobs would be dangerous.

I still have my 12 ga. and 20 ga. Lee loaders - loaded LOT of shotgun
shells with it. Seems it was dirt cheap at the time ('70s). A friend
had one for 30-06 that we used during deer season.
I hink I still have several pounds of #5 shot (lead) and herco powder
- wonder if it's any good now?
