His little planet/asteroid /home has volcanos that has to be kept clean, or
they will erupt, causing a mess. He also has to keep pulling up the baobab
trees/weeds.

Found the book - On the morning of his departure he put his planet in
perfect order. He carefully cleaned out his active volcanoes. He possessed
two active volcanoes; and they were very convenient for heating his
breakfast in the morning. He also had one volcano that was extinct. But, as
he said, One never knows! So he cleaned out the extinct volcano, too. If
they are well cleaned out, volcanoes burn slowly and steadily, without any
eruptions. Volcano eruptions are like fires in a chimney.

Another quote that is well known:
It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so
important.
snip
Men have forgotten this truth, said the fox. But you must not forget
it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are
responsible for your rose . . .

Glad to hear your surgery turned out well, Craig.
Who did it and at what hospital?
This would be good to know since others on the list in the Southwest might
also one day need the same type surgery, and a patients personal experience
is of much greater value than any other kind of recommendation.
