i -had- a rusty 115 - a green 240D. Went up in the world with well-maintained 123 and 124 cars (turbos, no less). Now, I'm back for more. More rust. More slowness. More simplicity. Rust like that and the carpeting in the trunk tells me that there is daylight just waiting to be seen. I'll take the spaciousness under the hood of a 123 240D, and the complexity with it's accompanying sophistication of the 124 or 603 in a 126 to a 115 any day, having worked on three of them over many years (two lost to rust, last one to drunk drivers)!
