Yeah, looks about as solid as the ones I saw listed for my 83' 300D. It would be hard to hit the fuel tank on mine unless you were REALLY in the wrong place. Either way, I sure wouldn't trust something that bolts to the bumper and spare tire well. There's definitely not a lot of strength in either of those locations...
