So I would vote for a 4.9.1 release


+1.  The subrepo problem on Windows forced me to downgrade at work.  In  
addition, TortoiseHg tends to lag a few weeks.  So if we wait until April  
1, it might not get its first point release until around the time 5.0-rc  
is available.
