https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103699 --- Comment #25 from Mario Kleiner--- Another problem caused by the new Mesa srgb visuals -- and assigning srgb to the special 32 bit composite overlay -- seems to be that the xf86-video-intel ddx will only give you a black screen under KDE Plasma 5, as tested with KUbuntu 16.04.3 LTS + distribution provided X-Server 1.19.3. Found this when i disabled depth 30 after testing my 10 bpc Mesa patches on top of the new srgb patch and stared at a black screen after logging in again. Yes, I believe the dark windows is a result of Qt not using the ARGB visual for those windows, so the background which is supposed to be translucent is solid black. I don't disagree with the solution, but I don't think these are blending issues; it's rather that applications are looking for a non-sRGB capable fbconfig associated with the ARGB visual, and either giving up or falling back to a non-ARGB visual after not finding one. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.___ mesa-dev mailing list mesa-dev@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/mesa-dev

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103699 Fredrik Höglundchanged: What|Removed |Added Attachment #135512|0 |1 is obsolete|| --- Comment #20 from Fredrik Höglund --- Created attachment 135782 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=135782=edit modified test case The window decoration is a separate texture in kwin, so the decoration should be rendered normally even if the fbconfig is causing a blending issue with the window contents. I think it is more likely that binding the pixmap to a texture failed, and kwin is skipping the window entirely as a result. I'm attaching a modified version of the test case that prints all the attributes kwin looks at, and also does the additional filtering and sorting of fbconfigs that kwin does. This version also sets GLX_ALPHA_SIZE to 8 and GLX_BUFFER_SIZE to 32. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.___ mesa-dev mailing list mesa-dev@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/mesa-dev

Problem is that GLX may pick sRGB capable config for 32bit visual that is used for translucent windows and compositor (kwin) does not seem to do blending properly in this case as it seems not aware of sRGB at all. Another bug indicated that gnome-shell may have the same issue so I'm proposing to disable sRGB globally 32bit visual for now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.___ mesa-dev mailing list mesa-dev@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/mesa-dev

Incidentally, I have always been working with SNA, since it is fine on haswell and snappier than glamor. I still see the issue with mesa as of 17.4 git snapshot taken on 17/11/15 07:30 commit id 65123e... I'll try again when a newer build of a mesa snapshot is available for kubuntu 17.10 (likely tomorrow). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.___ mesa-dev mailing list mesa-dev@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/mesa-dev

[Mesa-dev] [Bug 103699] Latest mesa breaks firefox on kde plasma with compositing on
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103699 Bug ID: 103699 Summary: Latest mesa breaks firefox on kde plasma with compositing on Product: Mesa Version: git Hardware: Other OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Mesa core Assignee: mesa-dev@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com QA Contact: mesa-dev@lists.freedesktop.org Seen on kubuntu artful with kde plasma 5.11.3, using the "oibaf" PPA that provides the latest (git) mesa over the normal distribution one on an almost daily basis. Seen both on intel graphics (haswell) and nvidia graphics (Quadro FX 570 with nouveau). Since the last week, mesa breaks firefox when compositing is on in the window manager. Specifically, the overlays that should appear when pressing toolbar buttons do not appear any more, nor do alert/confirmation dialogs. Note that firefox does not use the normal system dialogs, rather some overlays right below the screen element related to them (a button, an element on the toolbar, etc.). Reverting to the system version of mesa fixes the issue. Unfortunately: 1) I have initially thought that the issue was in firefox itself, so I have not noted down the day on which git mesa started breaking firefox (should be between 3/11 and 10/11, approximately, though). 2) I cannot bisect, since I rely on pre-built binaries from an ubuntu PPA. I certainly see the issue with: libdrm 2.4.88+git170630 mesa 17.4~git1711120730 I do not see it with libdrm 2.4.83 from ubuntu artful mesa 17.2.2 from ubuntu artful Neither I was seeing it with mesa/libdrm from git more than about 1 week ago. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.
