Re: [Mesa-dev] [Mesa-announce] Mesa 17.1.0 release plan

Threaded Gallium dispatch is possible for radeonsi within 5 weeks. I
have most things done. It won't have as big an impact as glthread, but
we might be able to enable it for all apps in radeonsi.

I'll throw it in the list and we'll see how it goes ;-)

If possible I'd suggest getting the core and driver plumbing sorted
asap and even toggling the extension as you get high test
coverage/pass rate - say ~70-80%.
The final bugs can be addressed during the RC(s). If it's not ready
and/or too unstable for 17.1.0 we can always disable it ;-)

Hi,

I will try to merge ARB_bindless_texture for RadeonSI, not sure if it's
doable in five weeks though. :)

Cheers,
Samuel.

Hi all,

Here is the current tentative 17.1.0 release schedule.

 Apr 14 2017 - Feature freeze/Release candidate 1
 Apr 21 2017 - Release candidate 2
 Apr 28 2017 - Release candidate 3
 May 05 2017 - Release candidate 4/final release

This gives us approximately five (5) weeks to get new features in.

Here is a rough list of people and tasks, which come to mind. Have I missed
anything, do any of these sound like they won't make it ?

 - Christian:
P010/P016 support for Gallium drivers via the VAAPI, OMX(?) and VDPAU(?) API
 - Emil:
pthread-stubs, drmDevice2, EGL GLVND, broken glsl tests
 - Timothy:
shader cache (anything outstanding?), gl threaded dispatch
 - Francisco, the Igalia team:
OpenGL 4.0 to Ivybridge/Baytrail
