Re: [ANN] revJournal is back!
Congratulations on your launch Richard! mctools.mc v2.6b11 posted
mctools.mc v2.6b11 has been posted to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MC_IDE/files/Latest%20Test%20Version/ Ken Ray updated the Variable Watcher for this build; it now lets you both view and display array variables. Thanks Ken! An amazing job in just a few hours! I also fixed the Script Find window so that it selects its Find text when it's opened, and whenever you select Find... from the Script Editor's Edit menu. I noticed that the Message Watcher is perhaps the only window in mctools.mc that has its backgroundColor set, and to a drab gray at that. Should this window remain colored, or should we clear the backgroundColor for consistency with other windows in the IDE? -- Richard Gaskin Fourth World Media Corporation ___ [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.FourthWorld.com ___ metacard mailing list metacard@lists.runrev.com http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/metacard

Re: mctools.mc v2.6b10 posted
Hi Robert, The general consensus has been that we should not be afraid to break with versions more than a year old, and at the time it seemed I was the only one who liked the ... ... The only other change outstanding at the moment is the proposal to move the storage of pres out of the Home stack and into the Preferences folder on Mac, Application Data on Windows, and a mcPrefs.mc file in the program folder for UNIX/Linux. The benefit to doing this is that it begins to free us from being bound to the Home stack, which we know will need to be replaced at some point down the road, and allows options like FlipsIDE to retain prefs when flipping into MC from Rev. If this idea remains attractive to the community it might be nice to include it in v2.6 because at that point we have no firm enhancements planned, making it a more complete baseline build that we can stick with for a while. If there are no objections to doing this in this version I could incorporate that into B11 for your review. I concur that it might be a good time to move prefs out. It has to happen sooner or later. I haven't had time to check b9 but I thought this was one of the changes added already by Klaus. No, sorry, did not find the time to make that... Hi Wilhelm, I have uploaded three screenshots (taken with a camera) that show the overlapping of text in some menu items and also cut-off text: http://www.sanke.org/MetaMedia/MCTools-B11.htm Must be an engine issue, since we did not change anything in the menus. Changing an object's id
I know someone posted a way to do this, and I could have sworn I saved the info. But looking in my Metacard snippets folder, and searching the archives, I couldn't find it. Am I losing my marbles? Is there a way to change an object's id? The actual id number? If so, would you post it again? -- Mac and Windows shareware games http://www.gypsyware.com ___ metacard mailing list metacard@lists.runrev.com http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/metacard
RE: Changing an object's id
on mouseup get the long name of any control changecontroltonuid it, 5 end mouseup on changecontroltonuid acontrol, nuid repeat until it is myid is nuid clone acontrol if word 3 of it is not nuid then delete it else exit repeat end if end repeat Funny eh? ;) But it should work ;) I think only ids of images can be change. Otherwise, you can use the altid which will overide the id of a control if queried. hope it help, hope im not wrong again ;) cheers Xavier -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Shari Sent: Monday, June 20, 2005 16:05 To: metacard@lists.runrev.com Subject: Changing an object's id I know someone posted a way to do this, and I could have sworn I saved the info. Ken Ray updated the Variable Watcher for this build; it now lets you both view and display array variables. Thanks Ken! An amazing job in just a few hours! Thanks Richard! A couple of quick things to note re: the new Variable Watcher: 1) It now sorts variables alpha by name within their group 2) Variables are grouped in this order: arrays, parameters, locals, script locals, globals (same order as before, I just added in the arrays) 3) Arrays are now colored a dark green color 4) There is a column to the left of the variable names that lets you click to watch a variable when it changes values; all I did for that field was add the same showLines that the Names and Values fields have 5) I added a watch column to the left of the array keys field, but I don't know if it works (so if anyone who uses the 'normal' watch variables column could test this, it would be great). ___ metacard mailing list metacard@lists.runrev.com http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/metacard

But those numbers are so out of sequence they seem strange -- any of you have a moment to double-check those? Once we confirm the IDs of the splitter cursors in Rev, should we update MC's to match those? I'm inclined to say yes to be done with it, even if the numbers are oddly out of sequence. Objections? If I understand it right, the old splitter IDs are now used for other things, so I don't see any harm in updating the splitters to the new IDs. This change is going to break my old stacks regardless.
