Re: [meteorite-list] Apology and thanks

2013-09-03 Thread Michael Blood
To Maria Hass and all,
It has been pointed out to me by a friend that regardless
Of what someone does it is not kind to bring it up on the
List.
I would like to publicly apologize to Maria Hass for my
Critical statements some time ago. I would also like to thank
Her for all she did to help the Footes in the past.
Gary Foote was admitted to the hospital last night. I am
Struck with how little time all of us have on this beautiful earth
And how forgiveness, kindness and release of any and all
Negativity is the only sane course for this all too short life we
All are passing through.
Any prayers for Gary will be much appreciated - and from
The atheists, wishing him well (literally).
As Dickens said, God bless us, everyone
Sincerely, Michael

[meteorite-list] AD: Gem, Mineral, and Jewelry Show - Winston Salem, NC - September 6, 7, 8

2013-09-03 Thread John Teague
Hey, List Members!

This is a quick note to remind you about the 42nd Annual Jewelry, Gem, Mineral
and Fossil Show and Sale this weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) in Winston
Salem, North Carolina! The members of the Forsyth Gem and Mineral Club, Inc.
have done a lot of hard work preparing for another great show. Complete
information can be found at the club's website:
http://www.forsythgemclub.com/page4.html

Lots of fine dealers from across the country will be there for you viewing (and
purchasing!) pleasure!

The show will be held in the Education Building, Dixie Classic Fairgrounds,
Gate #9. A map can be found at http://www.forsythgemclub.com/page4.html

Show hours are: Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, 10-7, and Sunday,
September 8, Noon-5.

Please stop by our booth and say, Hi! We are hard to miss! We're the folks
with the ORANGE table covers! We will have several new items from the Tucson
shows and Franklin, NC shows (minerals, fossils and meteorites!) that will be
displayed for sale for the first time at this show. Hey, you just might find
something that you cannot live without! My billfold sure hopes so! My credit
card company does likewise! But, in any case, stop by and say, Hi! Please ID
yourself from the list! It is always neat to put faces with names.

We hope to see you in Winston Salem this weekend! I'm sure you will have a
great time!

Re: [meteorite-list] Meteorite Picture of the Day

2013-09-03 Thread Michael Farmer
That piece of Sylacauga would not be from the stone that hit Ms Hodges, rather
the stone in the Smithsonian museum which was found by man on a road nearby,
the second stone.
The famous woman-hitting stone is in a local museum in Alabama, un smashed and
uncut thankfully, with only a core sample removed.

[meteorite-list] Is it too early to start thinking about Tucson 2014?

2013-09-03 Thread Mendy Ouzillou
Well, 2014 will soon be upon us and I have decided to not procrastinate too
much. This year I experienced Tucson by coming on the last weekend. For 2014, I
decided to come early, right on the first weekend when everyone is setting up
(Jan. 31). I am looking forward to seeing everyone's inventory early instead of
after almost all the goodies have been picked over. Hotel, car and flights are
all booked and reserved!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone I missed last year.

To those going to Denver - Enjoy. I can't make this year, but I am looking
forward to 2014.

Regards,

Mendy Ouzillou
