of Tucson and heading east.

[meteorite-list] Arizona fireball

Just sa a great fireball about 15 minutes ago. Only saw the beginning of it 
before it disappeared behind the neighbors house, was east of Tucson heading 
down and east.

Check that -- more data is coming in and the later Texas event may have managed
to stay on this side of the border. I've given up trying to find it in radar, 
but will
check seismographs to see if any picked up a sonic boom to help narrow down
the location.

The earlier Texas event does appear to be firmly within Texas. I don't think 
I'll
have time to look at that one tonight... --Rob

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory manages the 2001 Mars Odyssey mission 
for NASA's Office of Space Science, Washington, D.C. The Thermal Emission 
Imaging System (THEMIS) was developed by Arizona State University,
Tempe, in co.oration with Raytheon Santa Barbara Remote Sensing. 
The THEMIS investigation is led by Dr. Philip Christensen at Arizona State 
University. Lockheed Martin Astronautics, Denver, is the prime contractor 
for the Odyssey project, and developed and built the orbiter. Mission 
operations are conducted jointly from Lockheed Martin and from JPL, a 
division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.

I wouldn't hunt a meteorite in Mexico if you offered a million dollars
to do it.  It's not worth being kidnapped or decapitated or both.  Too
bad if it fell there.
