Re: [meteorite-list] What's Happening; 2-18-15
Hi Adam and all, These incisions are both modern. This type of cattle never exisited on this continent in modern, or prehistoric times. Also the medium into which they were incised was never used in the South West for this type of art. The cattle are plainly Middle Eastern/Indo/Asian types. Horn position, width and length. Bramhan type body with hump and body length, weight, etc. etc. I must admit that they (assuming they are different works) are unique in their location and presentation. But, never the less show all indications of being tool made and modern representations, or reproductions. To acknowledge this animal as associated with any North American civilization would be to fly in the face of all we know about North American wild and domesticated cattle and their time of introduction. [meteorite-list] Apis Bull - Early Man
I will let true professionals decide if the Apis Bull panel is real or not. So far, real experts with decades of experience disagree with your assessment, Mike Farmer as do I. If some laboratory tests proved we are all wrong, I would accept that but so far every indication is that it is ancient. I never said that mine was found in the Southwest. As a matter fact, I agree that the bull is not North American. This and some ancient script which was deciphered at Brigham Young University have caused considerable controversy like the Kensington Runestone which is now priceless. Many believe the Kensington is a fake because it changes what everybody has been taught about American History. There is a secret to the panel I received which leads me to believe it is real. Not only that, another tablet which I also acquired, which was found near by has been authenticated by the best in the business. A University did not want to return it so they were allowed to make a casting of the other tablet. The apis bull panel was authenticated on national television for what it is worth. It is not a Native American creation unless they knew Old Negev script. I would love to have more study done on it but at around 800 pounds, shipping is very expensive. Here are some images of it being recovered. http://themeteoritesite.com/TabletRecovery-1.jpg http://themeteoritesite.com/BullPanel.jpg http://themeteoritesite.com/CloseUp.jpg http://themeteoritesite.com/CloseUp-2.JPG Link to Kensington Runestone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kensington_Runestone Happy Trails, Adam __ Visit the Archives at http://www.meteorite-list-archives.com Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com https://pairlist3.pair.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list

Hi Frank and all, Nininger was involved in each of these. The Norton County Aubrite was purchased (and dug up) by Lincoln LaPaz after he was able to out bid Nininger on it. A sore spot for years to come between the men. Both impressive meteorites. --AL Mitterling Quoting Frank Cressy via Meteorite-list meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com: February 17 and 18 are the birthdays of the two largest meteorites to fall in the US. On February 17, 1930 the Paragould meteorite fell in the northeastern corner of Arkansas. The 820 pound stone recovered from the fall was the largest meteorite recovered from a witnessed fall in the US to that time. Eighteen years later, on February 18, 1948, the Norton County aubrite fell near the Kansas-Nebraska border. The 2360 pound main mass was found on July 3 and later recovered from a 10 foot deep hole. Re: [meteorite-list] What's Happening; 2-18-15
The meteorite belongs to whoever owns the land it is found on here in the United States. The issue with Indian reservations are that they are federally controlled so the meteorites cannot be used for commercial purposes without permits which are unobtainable. I have been researching properties for some time and found that a patented deed is the only type of property here in the United States that carries unbreakable supreme ownership rights. California has been trying for over a century to control (tax) patented land but has lost every case in supreme court. Any government will have to make a treaty with patented land owners otherwise they have no control whatsoever over the land including taxation or easements. I think Indian reservations should be patented! Re: [meteorite-list] Happy birthday to the Giants
And Norton is still the world's largest achondrite. A miracle that it stayed together in the 1 ton mass, most of the aubrite is very friable, except the nice sized enstatite crystals thoughout. They just don't make falls like the used to! Carl Agee * Carl B. It remains the largest stone meteorite seen to fall in the US and the second largest largest fall in the world after the Jilin, China meteorite that fell on March 8, 1976.
