If I remember correctly, this was during/right after the Tucson show. I know
Robert Ward went looking. Don’t think anything was found.

Prescott, Arizona

I guess with the increase in visibility of meteorite hunting, the
increase of online data resources available, and the increased numbers
of people hunting, some degree of silence is to be expected.

In the past, there was a lot of chatter on the List around a new fall.
There was the usual armchair hunters who would not go in person, but
had things to say and contribute to the effort in an indirect way.
Then there were the usual globetrotting hunters who would be on the
next flight or at the car rental agency before the news had even hit
the List. Everybody talked about it, but nobody was specific. Nobody
said exactly where they were going or how they were going to conduct
their hunting activities, but there was news and daily nuggets of info
for the world of spectators on the List.

I guess I am an old man shaking his fist and yelling at the clouds.
I've been on Facebook, and I know a lot of meteorite discussion goes
on there, so maybe this new fall is making some noise over there. I
don't know because I don't use FB any more.

Well, that's it. I'll keep talking to myself and the handful of
old-timers who still answer me, and maybe some others will
occasionally chime in. I'd love to see this place regain a little
steam and become a watering hole again.

I’ll tell you there was boots on the ground the very next day, I was one of
them. To my knowledge nothing was recovered.

Difference of opinion for search area. The area I hunted was not an easy open
field.

Hope this helps.

So, is this a confirmed fall? Has anyone found meteorites yet?

The lack of chatter regarding new falls on the List is something
relatively recent. I'm not used to this level of silence after a
potential new fall. Has Facebook stolen all the thunder? If so, that's
sad.
