Mendy,
Thanks for this - nice to have everything in one place. I've seen posters like
this, but having the links to more information makes it much more useful. I'll
send a copy of the link to my teacher friends. Thanks again for your effort on
this!

Re: [meteorite-list] loose chondrules for sale for micrometeorite exhibit?

2020-01-08 Thread Jon Wallace via Meteorite-list
Hi,
I am an educator and long-time meteorite collector. I have recently been
finding micrometeorites and am doing an exhibit of my micrometeorite
photographs in my local library to educate the public and wondered if someone
might have some loose chondrules for sale. I have many chondrites and can show
chondrules, but seeing them loose and as individual seemed a better display. I
hope to contrast them with MM.
BTW: if people are interested in pics of these objects, shoot me an e-mail or
explain how I can post them here.
Thanks!

Re: [meteorite-list] Meteorite-list Digest, Vol 204, Issue 26

2019-11-27 Thread Jon Wallace via Meteorite-list
Dan,
I was the one that posted the note. I have found 15 now. The best resource is
actually Jon Larsen's Facebook site (project Stardust). If you look around you
will find several articles, with pictures, about how to search rooftops. Mark
also mentioned the books and they really are great and fairly cheap. If you
find something, please share. If you need help, let me know and feel free to
contact me directly via e-mail.
Take care!
Jon

At least a year ago, someone posted an article on retrieving
micrometeorites from rooftops. I have a friend who is attempting to do the
same, and would appreciate having a copy of that article.
Thank you,
DAN

Re: [meteorite-list] micrometeorites and 'giveaways'

2018-04-20 Thread Jon Wallace via Meteorite-list
Hi Dan,

My contact e-mail was listed in the header of the message - it is:
wallac...@comcast.net mailto:wallac...@comcast.net . Thanks for your offer, I
would be interested in hearing more.

Since many have asked about the micrometeorites, there is a great book, only
$2.69 on Amazon called In 'Search of Stardust...' written by Jon Larsen (from
Norway). He also has a Facebook site (Project Stardust) that gives a lot of
details on looking for the micrometeorites as well, under the 'photo section'.
I may write something up for people in my area but am just starting so I am no
expert, yet. If I do, I'll try to share that here. Let me know if anyone needs
more advice on finding them once you check out the site/book - more than
willing to help!
Thanks again everyone for your generosity!
Jon

Re: [meteorite-list] Tucson show

2017-09-11 Thread Jon Wallace via Meteorite-list
Hi,

I have the opportunity to go to Tucson for a week in February and wanted to
pick the 'correct' week so I can participate in meteorite events. I attended a
few years ago but showed up for the last week and nothing was happening and
don't want a repeat. If anyone has information about the show and events for
'meteorite people', please share it when it becomes available. Thanks! Jon__
