2015-07-05 Thread Meteoriteshow via Meteorite-list
Dear meteorites' lovers,

I've not been active on the list for quite a long time, setting up a tourism
business in Ghana where I settled in 22007.
I'm now back to France as the Ebola outbreak has stopped my activities over
there, not because Ebola was there (not even 1 case!), but because tourists
have stopped travelling to West Africa for about 18 months now...

Anyway, I currently have for sale a few goodies that you can see on my
website. Please feel free to contact me should any of these look interesting
to you, and I'll let you know about sh cost in addition to the prices
stated.

Benguerir (look at the bottom of that page):
http://meteoriteshow.free.fr/meteoriteshow%20fra/pages%20navigation/pieces_e
n_vente-fra.htm
This is my last Benguerir, displaying both primary and secondary fusion
crustand weighing almost 80g!

Some nice unclassified OCs:

n_vente_OCs-fra.htm

Chergach:

You may also see some of my HEDs (NWA 5618 and NWA 5611) if you are browsing
through my website. I still have to update what is still available as some
of the slices displayed have been sold... But still feel free to ask if you
are interested, even before I upload the updates!

All the best and kind regards to all of you!

[meteorite-list] AD: Meteorites for Sale

2013-05-18 Thread Jason Phillips
Hello List,

I am going to be selling off a few older collections over the next
several months, along with some older NWA stock that I personally
obtained over the years. Today I am offering some very nice specimens.

1. Claxton, Georgia- This specimen is a .156 gram polished part slice
that Adam Hupe did an excellent job preparing several years ago. It
come with all 3 labels and a membrane box. Price is $80.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w589/jnbran/SANY0529_zpsae970c64.jpg

2. Whitecourt, Canada- This 12.92 gram specimen was obtained during my
trip with Rob Wesel and Mike Bandli to the crater. It was sold by Mike
Bandli and has been through several collections before ending up back
in mine. This specimen shows many of the great features that the
Whitecourt meteorite is known for. The price of this specimen is $120.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w589/jnbran/SANY0525_zps68a629af.jpg

3. Gebel Kamil, Egypt- This is a complete Ataxite specimen weighs in
at 94.50 grams. This is a beautiful specimen with orientation
features. Both specimen cards are present. This specimen is $90.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w589/jnbran/SANY0523_zps3e63bedd.jpg

4. Unclassified North West Africa specimen from my old stock that I
obtained many years ago. This specimen displays a beautiful desert
varnish and is a nice display piece. It weighs in at 374 grams. The
price of this specimen is $50.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w589/jnbran/SANY0519_zps659c0543.jpg

5. NWA 6947, Morocco- This fragmented specimen weighs in at 955 grams.
I obtained all of the material from this find and it was classified by
Tony Irving back in 2011. What makes this material unique is the
interior has a reddish tint to it and when cut it appears to be
bleeding. The price on this specimen is $70.

http://i1331.photobucket.com/albums/w589/jnbran/SANY0511_zps24d862db.jpg

6. Gibeon, Namibia- This is a part end cut specimen weighing in at
36.3 grams that has been etched and is beautiful. It will come with
all 3 specimen cards, and the Riker mount.

Don, for once I sort of agree with
 Steve.
I just returned from Russia, so I know all about the details
 on the ground.
This is the most important meteorite fall in modern history,
type is of no concern really.
While prices on eBay are premium, the pieces for sale are
all superb, collected in -30 -20f weather, still in deep
freeze,  pristine. I have seen pieces already oxidized
that were thawed improperly, still covered in ice or snow,
 and thus beginning to rust.
All the material found after 3-6 ft of snow melts will be
 heavily damaged.
Furthermore, driving down the strewn-field, it is mostly
heavy birch and pine forests, and 3 foot high grasslands,
not farmland! So when that snow is gone, and that grass
stands up, forget it. You cant swing a detector in that
terrain. It is an LL chondrite, low metal anyway, detectors
don't work well on this meteorite unless almost touching the
 stone.
While plenty more will be found, it may not be nearly as
much as what we thought (I admit I was wrong:). When the
snow melts, we will see what happens, but Russian government
and scientists all working on it (I was in the laboratory a
 week ago).
If you want flawless clean unweathered material, now is the
 time.
After the melt, it will look like a different meteorite.

Hi Arnold. Why do you say you do not see the prices
coming down anytime soon? There overpriced right now and

course its going cost you an arm and a leg to be the first
on the block to have one. Curious to know what you paid for
your piece! All I can say is, and no offence to anyone out
there, is please do not sell your piece of Chelyabinsk. Keep
it locked away in your collection as I do not want it in
mine. Again I will wait until the craze calms down and or
another Fall happens so as to take away the price and

Well let's wait and see some prices before we get too nuts about
this. I'm waiting to hear from some of the big dealers here on small

fine by me.

I do agree that the longer they sit under the snow the worse they

Re: [meteorite-list] (AD) METEORITES FOR SALE

2013-03-25 Thread Adam Hupe
I am waiting for the Russian meteorite dealers to put a truckload on the
market.  They always seem to price meteorites fairly and are not afraid to give
steep discounts on larger pieces.  So like everybody else, I am waiting to add
a piece to my personal collection.  I think LL's will hold up fine in the
frozen conditions and will make it another month or two without major condition
issues.  If it were an H like Peekskill, which seems to rust at the first
contact with somebodies breath, I would be in a hurry to lock a piece down and
throw into a hermetically sealed, nitrogen filled vessel.

Hi Arnold. Why do you say you do not see the prices coming down anytime
soon? There overpriced right now and there is plenty and plenty more that
will be found. Its an ordinary chondrite no less! Those that can't wait a
bit, of course its going cost you an arm and a leg to be the first on the
block to have one. Curious to know what you paid for your piece! All I can
say is, and no offence to anyone out there, is please do not sell your piece
of Chelyabinsk. Keep it locked away in your collection as I do not want it
in mine. Again I will wait until the craze calms down and or another Fall
happens so as to take away the price and attention of this Chelyabinsk fall.
I will wait when I truly know the Dealer and above all else PROOF that what
I bought is the real deal. Call me cautious, call me carefull, call me an

Re: [meteorite-list] (AD) METEORITES FOR SALE

2013-03-24 Thread Michael Farmer
Don, for once I sort of agree with Steve.
I just returned from Russia, so I know all about the details on the ground.
This is the most important meteorite fall in modern history, type is of no
concern really.
While prices on eBay are premium, the pieces for sale are all superb, collected
in -30 -20f weather, still in deep freeze, pristine. I have seen pieces
already oxidized that were thawed improperly, still covered in ice or snow, and
thus beginning to rust.
All the material found after 3-6 ft of snow melts will be heavily damaged.
Furthermore, driving down the strewn-field, it is mostly heavy birch and pine
forests, and 3 foot high grasslands, not farmland! So when that snow is gone,
and that grass stands up, forget it. You cant swing a detector in that terrain.
It is an LL chondrite, low metal anyway, detectors don't work well on this
meteorite unless almost touching the stone.
While plenty more will be found, it may not be nearly as much as what we
thought (I admit I was wrong:). When the snow melts, we will see what happens,
but Russian government and scientists all working on it (I was in the
laboratory a week ago).
If you want flawless clean unweathered material, now is the time.
After the melt, it will look like a different meteorite.

2013-03-24 Thread Graham Ensor
Hi Don..Mike...will definitely be interesting to see what happensI
will be forever grateful to the very generous and well respected
collector who let me have my 23g sample collected within 3 days of the
fall.

Quick somebody buy Mirkos big 90ish g piece at $30/g. They sell often
for over $60/g at the moment on ebay...so you could sell off half of
it and wind up with 40g left at no costnow that would be the real
dealand it's freshwish I could do it at the momentperhaps
gone buy now though. I'm really on the lookout for a range of smaller
pieces that show different aspects of the fall and the makeup of the
meteorite .

It was great following your adventure out there Mike.

2013-03-24 Thread Michael Farmer
Alex, again, this is always a gambling game, buy early, perhaps pay high,
perhaps price will drop, perhaps not.

Lets see some facts.
1: 100% sure, 2 meters melting snow and ice will not help LL5 chondrite's looks.

2: Whole thing may be shut down.

3: Most important fall of modern age, all on camera, more than 1500 wounded,
buildings collapsed, tens of thousands of windows blown out, all caught on
camera for you to enjoy day after day with your piece of that history-making
event.

4: Everyone on the planet with a tv has seen this meteorite, most want some,
including every Russian. Do you think they are not buying and for big money? I
have some experience in losing my deals to people who paid far more than me:).

5: Well, how much Sutter's Mill, Ash Creek, Mifflin, Park Forest, Battle
Mountain etc etc etc do you see on the market? All gone.

You's put's yo money on the table and you's throws the dice and we's see's
where they lands.
Old southern black saying :)
Fitting for this game of the century.

[meteorite-list] AD - Meteorites for sale - NEW very unusual ureilite

2012-05-09 Thread Greg Catterton
The very high shock experienced by this specimen (causing complete
recrystallization of silicates and evidently generation of significant
amounts of microdiamond) is unusual among ureilites.
Small adamantine crystals of
diamond were extracted from the stone ... coarse-grained aggregate of
olivine and orthopyroxene with finer grained interstitial regions
containing opaque material, calcite and limonite. Some thin calcite
veinlets cross-cut the specimen. Both olivine and pyroxene are
completely recrystallized to aggregates of myriad tiny, polygonal
subgrains.

Hi to all. I am having a sale on meteorites listed on ebay. There are
some great deals to be had.
I have several new classifications that are provisional and ready for
new
homes. There is a new CV3 (NWA 6870) that is really neat as well as a
some
nice larger tatahouine fragments and a nice example of the Whitecourt
Iron meteorite with export permit, GPS info and pictures.

Check it out, you just may find something you like!

[meteorite-list] AD - Meteorites for sale on eBay

2005-04-11 Thread Meteoriteshow
Dear List Members,

I wish to inform you that I have three new meteorites and a nice LDG
displayed on eBay at:
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZmeteoriteshow

The three meteorites are our own finds and are proposed for the first time
on eBay.

- METEORITE: LL6 O.C. - ACFER 346 17.0gr END-CUT :This is a nice LL
end-cut with a cut surface very smoothly polished. A nice meteorite to be
displayed in a collection!

- METEORITE: LL4 O.C. - TANEZROUFT 060 15.6gr END-CUT : A gorgeous LL4!
With big fractured chondrules, a very porous matrix and nice fusion crust on
the edge. Once again this is an end cut, very representative of the full
meteorite.

- METEORITE: C4 AN Carb. - TANEZROUFT 057 3.6gr SLICE : I kept the best one
for the end... THE MISSING LINK! Tanezrouft 057 is such a unique meteorite
that you really have to try and get this part slice. The winner of this
auction will receive a complete documentation on Tan 057, including the
abstract of the latest comparative study between Tan 057, oxidized CVs and
CKs. This meteorite could cause an alteration of the meteorite
classification, as it seems to lead to the conclusion that CKs and oxidized
CVs could actually be one single group. More studies need to be carried out,
and we hope that it won't take too much time...

- LIBYAN DESERT GLASS 12.8g - METEORITE IMPACT! : A beautiful LDG with
bubbles inside. Have a look at it and your finger may not be able to avoid
clicking on the bidding link!

I thank you in advance for watching and wish all bidders good luck!!!

Kind regards,

Frédéric Beroud

Hello Everyone,

I have a chance to fully fund my regular IRA and
we are starting a simple IRA where I work and since

Hello all you meteorite hunters and collectors. I have listed a number of
meteorite specimens on E-Bay today and there are lots more to come. So far I
have listed several howardites eucrites and ureilites. Next will follow,Amgala,
NWA 3118 CV3, Thuathe and Park Forest - the Ralph Beneroya stone. Drop me a
line if you have any questions. To find the items on E-bay simply do a title
search for ET'S, right now you should get 17 great items up for bid.
 Cheers, Edwin
