Please take a look: http://cs.astronomy.com/asy/b/daves-universe/archive/2014/02/11/day-1-of-meteorites-at-the-tucson-gem-show.aspx I suppose this would be an AD if that stone was not already sold. ;-) Anne M. [meteorite-list] Astronomy Magazine August 2006 freebie
Astronomy Magazine was kind enough to send me a couple free issues of their August 2006 issue for my help with the blog last week To see it, go to this URL and scroll down to The Sky Is Falling. It has some nice Haag commentary .Ill have to ask him in Tucson to throw a meteorite at me ;^) http://www.astronomy.com/asy/cs/blogs/astronomy/default.aspx Since they were kind enough to give me two copies, and I only desire one, I will go ahead and pass the extra along at cost (free) to the first person to e-mail me. I do ask that you pay shipping, likely $1.50 in the US, outside the US I will just send and then you can pay the shipping when it arrives, as it is pretty hard to guess exactly in most foreign cases. I only have one extra issue so this will be just to the first to respondsorry. [meteorite-list] Astronomy Magazine Blog - The Sky Is Falling
Hello List, Yesterday I spoke with Astronomy Magazine staff writer Daniel Pendick about a blog he was preparing. It is now live on the Astronomy website in a section were staffers blog about recent new items. To see it, go to this URL and scroll down to The Sky Is Falling. http://www.astronomy.com/asy/cs/blogs/astronomy/default.aspx Pendick mentioned that he would be interested in hearing what my fellow meteorite enthusiasts thought about it - for good or ill. So please check it out and make a comment if you have the time. Many of you likely remember Astronomy's August 2006 issue was a meteorite special. It is nice to see meteorites becoming a little more main stream. Eventually we will be able to mention meteorite to the average person and not have them comment back What's that? or the like. Sensational news storiesI think they are here to stay. Bob Did you get it in the mail or at a news stand? I don't have a subscription but the super market next store to my apartment sells it on the magazine rack. Walter L.
