[meteorite-list] Beware of dealing with Fayssal Mezgouri
Fayssal Mezgouri in his most recent email to the list even admits to using the old "bait and switch routine" on his victims. Classic! This is how he bilked me and others out of thousands of dollars. This is how he operates. He does a few small but good deals earning the buyers' trust and then he claims to have something rare. He sends a small but authentic sample "the bait", and then makes a deal with the buyer for a much larger piece. He collects the money and then sends a weathered common chondrite in place of the promised stone "the switch". He then claims ignorance as his defense when the buyer realizes that he has been had. It is sad and unfortunate that this one dishonest person is riding on the good reputation of the many many good and honest Moroccan dealers staining the reputations and trustworthiness of all by association. Sad and unnecessary. This man could have made a good living by dealing honestly with people. Re: [meteorite-list] Beware of dealing with Fayssal Mezgouri
Like the old saying goes, "A man is only as good as his word" I remember making multimillion dollar computer deals on a handshake followed up later with a purchase order in the late 90's and had very few problems. Now, you need to engage super attorneys, that are as cold as ice under pressure, that can navigate through all of the lies, in order to enforce simple contracts in many cases. These days, a handshake and a contract mean very little to those blinded by greed! A sense of entitlement is the new norm for those whom have lost any sense of a personal code of conduct and do not possess a moral compass. You may as well talk to a brick wall since these type of crooks will not listen and have already convinced themselves they are in the right regardless of the facts. Hi Jack, Thanks for the warning. And, I think this speaks a lot to your good character. You went above and beyond to give this man a chance to make things right before you went public. Only after exhausting all other avenues did you take this last step. You did the right thing, and then some. Now I have to go make sure this man is not a member of any of the Facebook groups that I admin. Lifetime ban for fraud.
