[meteorite-list] New 869
My thanks to Greg Hupe. After my nwa869 was stolen he sent me a replacement, with a chondrule popping out of its 'skin' that is even more amazing to see than the one I 'lost'. If you want a peek see; http://www.meteorite-dealers.com/nwa-869-individual-90-2.html Last picture on the page. Thank you Greg - you made my day/week. Re: [meteorite-list] New 869
Good morning All, this is a nice meteorite. No one will mistake this for chocolate! Anyway I have a new find from this year with lots of chondrules sticking out too. I first thought it was a piece of basalt, because the piece is quite weathered, but you can not go wrong when chondrules are sticking out all over. I am glad you have a replacement for your lost piece. But now what will you do if you find the original? ;-) With best regards, Moni From: Gary K. Hi Moni, If I do happen to find the original I will give it to a classroom or something like that. I give a lot of small samples away anyway, though this one was special. I have torn the house apart looking for it to no aail. I am now in the process of moving, so if its here it WILL show up. LOVE those eye-popping chondrules!
