Subject: [meteorite-list] Smithsonian FolkLife Festival, NOT OT

 Hi, List,

Each year, the Smithsonian Institution sponsors the FolkLife
Festival, a huge and popular public event. It begins today, I believe,
and culminates on the Fourth of July, as part of the grand round of
celebrations in our nation's capitol of the American Day!

Every year, one foreign country, and only one, is chosen to present
to the US public a world's fair style pavilion, featuring a wide array
of exhibits of their country's history, culture, arts, music, crafts,
 foods, traditions abd values.

It is a way for a government to represent their nation to the US.
Many citizens of that nation generally participate in the presentations,
 which are wide ranging indeed.

It is an excellent way for a citizen of the US living near or
traveling to Washington, DC, to speak to, ask questions of, and get
 answers about one particular country.

Only one nation each year is featured.

This year that nation is OMAN.

Oh, and there WILL be camels...
