Re: [meteorite-list] Re: Total Number of Meteorites?
Hi Al(l), on the german meteorite list was reported the output of diamonds: annual: 12.4 metric tons estimated total since ancient times: 680 tons Keep that in mind folks, if you let pass on ebay an R-chondrite at 5$/g R-chondrites - annual output (estimated): 0.0005 tons total: 0.021tons Buckleboo!! Hi Geoff and all, The quote as I remember it (don't ask me where from) is the total number of meteorites is less than the total output of Platinum per year. It has to come from some of my reading over the past 10 years ago. Since the big crater events only represent one fall, same material, and the reporter is interested in numbers the interest in crater weight is only good for the out put of gold/platinum saying. Best and hope this helps. --AL Mitterling __ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list __ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list

If it weren't for their control, diamonds wouldn't be as expensive as they are (and I think that, within 10 to 20 years, methods of producing artificial diamonds will advance to the point that diamonds fall to cubic circonia prices). __ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
