Try to collect dumps via Kismet and crack wepkey with aircrack. Sadly, there are no tools similar to aireplay for BSD, but it's on my TODO list (I'm slowly rewriting aireplay for BSD. It's so ugly and leeenooks-specific, that it's better to say I'm writing it from scratch)

Matthias, for what is it worth I would like to say thank you for porting kismet, I use it all the time, because I do not know of another tool to scan for available AP's Sam Fourman Jr. On 10/10/06, Matthias Kilian <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: [flamebait alert, sorry, but i really cannot resist] On Tue, Oct 10, 2006 at 11:12:32PM +0200, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > And hell kismet works fine except the fact that it can`t crack WEP. In fact, the only reason i did that kismet port was that i wanted to get rid of your whining here. You whined, i ported, you didn't respond. Of course, the *real* work has been done by Pedro la Peu (excuse me if I'm again confusing people called Pedro -- I did this in the past for accident ;-)) Anyways, there were some people involved for porting kismet to OpenBSD. Yet, i still got no feedback from YOU. I guess no one ever got any feedback from you, because you're always whining about this-doesn't-work, that-doesn't-work, but if you're asked to cooperate, you don't respond. You only WANT WANT WANT. Ciao, Kili, angry ps: kismet port will be updated soon. -- Nur wer vvgelt kann auch fliegen.

WLAN-Sec-Tools for OpenBSD?
Hello everybody, I got my new Laptop (a ThinkPad R51) and now everything just works [tm]. :) So even the build in WLAN (Atheros now) works and I wanted to get some practical experience with WLAN-Security (in Fact Attacks against WEP). I set up a little WLAN at home, secured it with a WEP-Key and got kismet. And hell kismet works fine except the fact that it can`t crack WEP. kismet can decrypt the traffic if I supply the WEP-key but that`s not realy the goal of my interests. I tried to install airsnort but the compilation fails and I also tried bsd-airtools but it supports just wi0 (as far as the program tells me, with my ath0 it wont work (detecting APs)..). Could somebody tell me a tool to do further tests (cracking WEP). Maybe even a Tool wich supports BF against WPA (in case it gets supported some day.. :-/). Or is sniffing with kismet and then trying to crack the key with bsd-airtools (wich doesn`t implement the latest algorithms to speed this up) the only way on oBSD? Kind regards, Sebastian p.s. If somebody has a aircrack-ng port wich may compiles fine or even "just" supports the stuff it supports on Linux: please let me know... :)
