xpdf slow

Hello there,

May someone help me with the following.

My xpdf is very slow on pdf files from www.archive.org.
pdf is attached.

xpdf is always slow :P

unrelated: have you tried zathura?, it's in ports, it seems a whole lot
faster
to me...

That is to be expected. Get the djvu files instead.

There is no way to /decently/ use big image pdf files like those, even
with acrobat reader and on the latest hardware.
