Select aux in your mixer, and don't specify an input source to lavrec.
It won't touch mixer settings and your audio will be recorded.

Hi, Chris. Have you recorded anything else recently using the AUX input? The
reason I ask is that I could not get that working with ALSA, and had to
change to using Line In for recording.

[Mjpeg-users] Cannot get audio recorded with lavrec...

2005-04-08 Thread Chris Wilkinson
Hi there,
I'm trying to record TV from a Pinnacle PCTV Stereo using lavrec.
The video side of recording is working fine (720x576 PAL from
Australian TV with software-encode at quality 90 loses no frames
on my Athlon64 3000+), but the audio is empty. Audio works well
with tvtime.
My TV card audio output goes to an AUX plug on the motherboard. With
lavrec I can choose line-in, mic, or CD as input source, but none of
those inputs carry my TV-card audio output. The avi files I record
say that its Microsoft PCM audio, but just nothing is recorded except
silence...
Do you know how I can choose the AUX input to record audio with lavrec?
Googling hasn't found an answer yet...
