Holland, many thanks. I did check the 5th injector (cold start injector) and
it was totally dry. It might not even be working, but at least I can be sure
it's not contributing to this problem.

After dinner I worked up the guts to dive into the fuel distributor ....the
Bentley's pictures aren't worth much, but a short paragraph of text was pretty
precise for checking the plunger. I pulled it out with quite a bit of
resistance, cleaned it up a bit with qtips and fresh gas, and it went back
together nicely. Put all the intake pipes back and crossed my fingers as I
turned the key. A bit of a sputter, but then started up. Ran rough for 15
seconds and then settled in decently. A ton of bluish smoke, presumably from
the half of gallon of gas sitting in the downpipe and cat. It will be
interesting to see if my O2 sensor still works after this debacle.

Honestly guys, I used to enjoy working on this car...but now with a fear of
snapping brittle wires everytime I touch something, it is quickly losing it's
fun. Part of me wishes I could pull out all of the electronics and run
megasquirt or even carbs, but I can't justify the investment.

Thanks again....
