Alberto, MLT now uses locale_t, newlocale(), freelocale(), and querylocale(): http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/functions/newlocale.html These are defined in glibc for Linux and on OS X. A little web search seems to indicate they are not available on FreeBSD.
