[Mobile.AI] Two queries about android

2014-03-27 Thread Asudani, Rajesh
Friends
Here I come with two queries:
1. Which is the good anti virus to be used on android JB 4.2 phone?
2. Whether we can download installer APK files of any app from playstore, or we
can just install the app only?

With thanks and regards

Re: [Mobile.AI] Regarding Moto X

2014-03-27 Thread Sunil Sangtani.
hi,
a little correction here,
ok google feature comes with all android phone, that is true.
but in moto x and nexus5, its always on.
meaning that you just say ok google now, and it'll start listening to you.
moto x indeed is a good buy.
its a good competitor of nexus 5.
as far as after sales services are concerned, then Motorola has
deploied severel servis across major cities.

Hello! Though I'm not using neither android nor any phone's apps for
scanning and reading purpose, but I just like to insure that if you are
interested, you can take a photo without any sighted assistance. Little bit
of practice and training is required. I'm a totally blind one, but I'm very
much doing photography in any event. .

Hi
Text fairy is one more app you can check out for scanning. It has built in
OCR for many languages including Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Kanadda, and
Malyalam as far Indian languages are concerned.

The challenge really is taking the picture.

Hi all,

Please suggest useful places to download custom roms for Android devices
as I need to find one for my Lava Iris 405+ which currently runns on
JB4.2.2. Also, enlighten me if rooting the device through custom rom would
have any changes in the accessibility.

With best regards,

Re: [Mobile.AI] suggestion need bluetooth keyboard for my eye phone 3gs and samsung galaxy star

2014-03-27 Thread Shashi
if the purpose for bluetooth is to key-in numbers names etc., pocket
sized bluetooth keyboard is good. mini bluetooth keyboard is one.
costs Rs. 1000.
if the purpose is to type qwerty serious work, logitech is good.
costs. Rs. 4000.
logitech is seemless. you can connect it to more than one handset at a
time, to my mind. not sure about mini bluetooth.

Re: [Mobile.AI] Regarding Moto X

2014-03-27 Thread Satguru Rathi

Hi Rishi,

The accessibility on Android has evolved so much after JB 4.2 and since
MotoX comes from Google's own house, and has the latest Android version
installed, you can expect maximum accessibility than on any other Android
phone. The feature mentioned by you seems quite tempting and even without
this feature, using a touch phone is not much of a problem these days. Being
Google's own product, you can also expect faster software updates than any
other manufacturer's phone as and when these are available. Further, as you
might be following the list, there are lot of people using Android on this
very list and most of them have migrated from Symbian only since there were
not many choices before Android (JB).

With best regards,

Subject: [Mobile.AI] Regarding Moto X

Hi friends,
I'm planning to buy an Android phone. One of my friends is suggesting to go
for Moto X which was recently launched in India.
So wanted your feed back regarding its accessibility. Is this a good
android phone for the V I?
My friend is suggesting this phone since he thinks the "OK Google now"
feature, which is the touchless control feature, will be very helpful to
me.
Touchless Control I believe, lets us control our phone hands-free by
speaking commands. Train your phone to recognize your voice, and it's always
ready for the launch command, so it's ready to execute voice searches and
unique device commands.

Moto X is for around 24k on flipkart.
And I think it runs on Android Kit kat 4.4.2
So dear friends, do you think this is a safe buy for a person whose making
the shift from Nokia E5 to android touch screen phone for the first time?

Looking forward to all your valuable feed back,
Regards,
Rishi.

Hi
I suppose, it would be partly technology and partly a human person giving the
result. Hence, one need to be aware of what you are giving for recognition.

The app is really good at recognising objects and currency! I was however
wondering if it could also read the text. I shall give it a go in the
evening, mean while if anyone has already tried it for OCR, please share.

hi Folks,

greetings for the day! i have come across an app called CamFind that
recognises objects with great accuracy, including indian currency. the best
part is that it recognises objects captured from any angle, which is good
for blind users. so go ahead and download it from the app store.
