Look at the android one phones just launched. I happened to lay my hands on
the spice dream uno and I was quite satisfied with it. The best thing about
these phones is that they come with stock android under direct supervision
of google and will get the upgrade to next major version i.e. android L.
You can also look at moto E or new Moto G which have good hardware specs
and also have stock android.

Re: [Mobile.AI] Suggestion for buying android Phone:

2014-09-21 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafel
If u want to experience android accessibility with out spending much,
get one unit of Moto E. It runs on latest android KK with good
expects. Regarding accessibility, its not like iPhone, u will get
always frustration on android except its open nature and freedom to
choose tts of your choice. Believe me the accessibility on android is
not that much great. Many applications are not simply compatible with
talkback, gestures hard to perform, physical keyboard support is very
frustrating and web pages are less accessible.

1. have updated to IOS8 and have noticed faster response in general. 2.
have downloaded the Allex voice which is very responsive and clear. 3. Not
facing the issue mentioned by prashant. However, sometimes apps like
whatsap close autometically. .
4. Caller id announcement is also there without problem.
5. I do agree with Satguru that 4S has issue with this update. In fact one
of my friends updated his 4S to IOS8 and his phone's accessibility is gone.
No speech no VoiceOver working. So one has to keep fingers crossed.
Will get back with more findings soon.

this wonderful app and the last comment I red from the developer was that
they would tell us soon (within 24 hours) that how to effectively use the
currently available app with VO.

automatic caller id speaking on an incoming call is missing.

For those having iPhone 4S, a little word of caution: please do not hurry
for the update as the update might slow down your phone significantly
specially, if the phone is 8GB. After the update, I am experiencing the
following issues, which are mentioned by the Applevis.com also:
- The Apple's Health kit is creating unnecessary glitches and is
causing

delay in opening other apps. This has been confirmed by Apple too (saw
some

- The two finger double tab for answering call is some time playing the
music and the call is also answered. This is really irritating as
listening

to caller is very difficult while music is playing in your ears and if
two

finger gesture is performed again while on call to stop the music, the
call

too, gets disconnected.
- While I always keep Hints Disabled, VoiceOver is not listening to
this

and keeps giving me the hints. I've done it couple of time but without
luck.
- There is a significant delay for VO to speak while unlocking screen.

Will share the rest as I come across.

Updated iOS 8 on a iPhone 5s and iPhone 5.

On first look, there are no issues on 5s. I have so far noticed one
glitch,
even after locking the screen, talkback prompts for touch id or password.

On the iPhone 5 there seems to be many issues related to touch gestures
on

the screen.
