[Mobile.AI] clearing all text at one go from an edit box
Hi, I have begun using Voice Input and am getting fairly satisfactory results. It does stumble, but its better than typing for me.Now comes my issue... When Voice Input misunderstands me and types some unwanted text, I do not like to manually edit it, because I need to continuously press my Volume keys to reach the error, or use granularity which is risky because the set granularity is lost if you touch a control other than the edit box. Therefore, I need to resay to Voice Input, making the misunderstood speech a bit more clear, so that the correct string gets typed. For reiteration, I need to clear the previously entered text. Due to unknown reasons, going into Local COntext Menu Cursor Control Select All and then tapping on the Delete button does not clear all the text. Therefore, I use a very cumbersome work around of closing the app where the edit box is, reopening it and then reiterating my message (by the way I mostly type in Whatsapp Messenger, where you can get rid of the entered text only by restarting the app, as per my knowledge). I was wondering what to do, and can think of only one solution; a Clear All Text button in the keyboard itself (by the way I am using Google Keyboard). Can I somehow get a button in the Google Keyboard that clears all the text in an edit box? Is there any other equally responsive and accessible keyboard that has a Clear All Text button? I want to stick to Voice Input, because it seriously increases my typing speed, someone even commented that I was typing a lot (when I was actually Voice Inputting :). Voice messaging is not an option for me, because most of my friends dislike voice messages. Dear all, I am facing a serious issue with Google TTS and Whatsapp Messenger, and therefore am planning to purchase an alternative TTS (not planning, I will do it, to solve this issue as well as for better responsiveness). Anyways, a description of the issue I'm facing: Firstly, I am using Motorolla G second generation running Kit Kat 4.4.4 with latest stable versions of both Google TTS Whatsapp Messenger. Please also note that this issue consistently occurs with some groups while it doesn't with other Whatsapp groups. It has never occurred in personal chats either. So, the issue that consistently occurs in some groups is as follows: I put my finger on the area where the group name is written, the top left or top center of the screen,. Immediately, Google TTS freezes, and will remain silent for the next 30 seconds to one minute. I can't afford wasting a minute simply because my finger touched an area. Are you all facing this issue as well? If everyone is, then lets jointly alert Google about this issue through various means, such as the Google TTS contact details provided on its Playstore page, the Google Accessibility Feedback form, and as last resort, if you would agree/permit, the Eyes Free issue tracker.
