Hi,
Accessible tablets - To give you a rough idea of tablets with highest
degree of accessibility, Necsus tablets, such as the Necsus 7, 9 and
10 should be fully accessible out of the box, since they run stock
Android. Samsung has a good name in Android accessibility, so its
Tablets should be equally accessible. There may or rather must be many
more accessible Tablets, which I haven't listed, but you get a rough
idea, and if you want something to match your specific needs, please
give some specific information.
Android Development Team Contact - It is highly unlikely that you or
anyone else on this list will be in direct contact with the developers
of Talkback, or from a broader perspective, the Google Accessibility
Team. They have been traditionally unresponsive, and we haven't seen
significant updates in new Talkback releases. However, that doesn't
mean that Talkback isn't a good screen reader, I as an Android or
rather a touch screen or rather a mobile phone first timer, started
with Android, a Motorolla G second generation to be exact, and am
using it with ease.
Hope that answers your questions

From an accessibility point of view, Tablets running stock Android are
 bound to be completely accessible.
To broaden the options, Samsung has a good name in terms of
maintaining accessibility standards in its devices and even adding
additional accessibility features, so Samsung tablets/phablets may be
 considered.
If you intend to purchase a Tablet other than from the Necsus series,
it is advisable to look for Tablets running Kit Kat or higher.

Re: [Mobile.AI] Want to buy a budget Android Tab with goodaccessability

2015-01-14 Thread Bhavya shah
From am accessibility point of view, Tablets or phones do not matter
greatly, since both run the same operating system, that is Android,
with each manufacturer, producing their own custom version.
As you pointed out, locating items on the screen may become a simpler
task with a larger screen size, but well thats about it. Tablets and
mobiles just differ in screen size, so there isn't any advantage
Tablts can have over mobiles.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't had practical experience to
compare Tablets vs mobiles, but from my thinking/understanding, I feel
what I've written above.
