[Mobile.AI] IOS 9 and big brotherly attitude of Apple

Dear friends,

On 16th of Sept. IOS 9 got launched and one of the biggest features that was 
being touted was the News app.  I am sad to report that this app (which should 
not cost anything extra to Apple or have any other legal issues) is not 
available in India.  I was looking forward to it.  I am sure India is also one 
of the markets that Apple is viewing as its primary market and neither Apple 
maps nor apps like the News apps are made available to Indian consumers.  
Having said this, it is to be remembered that Apple does not charge nothing 
less than the global price of Iphone or Ipad from its Indian consumers.  I feel 
that this is an important issue and should be conveyed to Apple through its 
website as well as social media.

[Mobile.AI] Inability to use my phone as mobile hotspot

Hi friends,

I am using Moto-E generation I phone with KitKat Android 4.4.4.  Earlier I 
could use my phone as mobile hotspot and could use internet through vifi on my 
computer from my phone.  Now I can connect the computer but it does not connect 
with the internet.  The password type is WP2.PSK.  What setting could I have 
tempered?  I can connect the vifi but no net.  The phone has excellent 
internet.  Please do help.

Hi Rajesh,

I am sure you know but anyway, google maps do all the other things
except PoI's.  Of course you need to check details with your finger.
It does give you turn by turn direction.  In fact I have had excellent
results in Mumbai in most cases including the direction of my
destination.

even i had no dificulty in in reading the hindi content websites to
read newspapers. in fact, the clarity of the speech output was much
appreciable than lekha.

good news for Hindi  users. recent google TTS update adds support for
Hindi. to use it do the following:
1. go to settings > accessibility > text to speech output, and select
google TTS if using any other TTS.
2. tap on launch engine settings button available next to the Google
TTS
engine.
3. tap on "install voice data" and then "Hindi India"  and download
the voice data..
4. now tap on language and check Hindi India in the Launch engine
settings to use Hindi TTS.

even i had no dificulty in in reading the hindi content websites to
read newspapers. in fact, the clarity of the speech output was much

good news for Hindi  users. recent google TTS update adds support for
Hindi. to use it do the following:
1. go to settings > accessibility > text to speech output, and select
google TTS if using any other TTS.
2. tap on launch engine settings button available next to the Google TTS
engine.
3. tap on "install voice data" and then "Hindi India"  and download
the voice data..
4. now tap on language and check Hindi India in the Launch engine
settings to use Hindi TTS.

I am afraid I have to report that this support is like a half-baked
cake.  I have tried the TTS with Dainik Bhaskar, some Marathi
newspapers etc. and no Hindi or very little is actually read.  We need
to write to google fast.

I have a strange problem:  I am using Moto E with 4.4.4 Android.  I
had the phone app in the docks.  Somehow it got onto one of the
homescreens and now it is concealed.  If I search it through google
search, I can find it but cannot get it back.  Also, in the list of
apps, I can only see the apps till the letter D.  What do I do to get
my phone app back?

[Mobile.AI] Problems with clock/alarm settings on Moto E

I hav a moto E and am facing terrible problem in clock/alarm.  When I try to 
set time or alarm, I am unable to select hour/minutes and also unable to raise 
the volume of alarm.  I tried double tapping/swiping but nothing works.  Any

Hi friends,

I have purchased Moto E and am still fumbling.  Anthough I am able to
use Iphone quite successfully, I am afraid the story on Android is
different.  I have following questions and would be extremely grateful
if someone were to reply:

Firstly, are there totally blind Android users using Android for
messaging, posting on social media etc. without using any external
Bluetooth keyboard?  Also if you are using any external keyboard, then
which is the keyboard that you would recommend?

Secondly, does anyone successfully able to use internet using either
chrome or firefox?

What are the accessible apps in the category of entertainment,
productivity and social media?

My phone sometimes says 24 updates but I don't know how to grab them?

I would be looking forward to some replies please.

[Mobile.AI] Android Problem: Tap typing

Dear Friends,

I have just purchased Moto E with Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and having
several problems: in the first place, since I am an Iphone user, I am
used to typing by double tapping and I do not like the option of
finger typing were as soon as I lift the finger, the letter gets
printed.  Is there a way to get the other method\?  same thing happens
while dialling and I am unable to dial as I invariably end up lifting
fingers at undesirable places.

Secondly, how do these homescreens work?  I get 5 homescreens and my
phone starts on the 3rd one all the time.  Could you please help?

We are deeply concerned with the low level of registration for the 
convention. We are now drawn to a situation to decide whether to have it in 
the first place. The convention is held in about 3 years gap and despite 
that, if the response is Luke, we are forced to thinkin organising this 
event.


On our side, the registration charge was reduced, the topics have been set 
by members and now the agenda is also available. The online registration is 
just about 42 and registration amount is  received from only 15 members. At 
this rate, I am afraid, it makes no sense organising a huge event like this. 
We are giving a last attempt and you may consider an ultimatum. We should 
get 100 registration by 26th January. All those who have intention of making 
this event happen, should register and send the registration amount without 
any delay at all. By merely sitting on the fence and being indecisive is not 
helping us at all. It is necessary for all members both from Delhi and 
outside need to register. The online registration shall not be available 
beyond February 1st.


The registration charge is the same for delegates and escorts i.e. Rs. 500 
per head.

Hi friends,

First of all, nice to see Atul on the list after a while.

I use Iphone 4 S with ease and wherever I need to type long documents
etc. I have a bluetooth keypad.  Normal typing, IVR etc. is now easy.
Of course, it did take awhile but I suppose any change is a struggle
to begin with.

Also, the amount of apps that we get and the ease with we can read
books, newspapers, listening to radio, play games etc. is truly
astounding.

By the way, I am still not familiar with flexi, could someone help?
Also does anyone use Mbraille on IOS?  Help would be appreciated.

off" double tapp the same and swip to your right finger till it say vifi off
