Re: [Mobile.AI] Xolo Confirms Android 4.4 KitKat Update for Q700S, Q1010i, Q1010 and Q3000

2014-05-15 Thread Mahesh S. Panicker
Because most of them use skinned Android and not Stoke Android.
Skinned Android needs far greater customization than the stok version,
and so updates gets delayed. And the other reason is obvious, they
would rather produce a new handset wit hthe latest OS and encourage
people to shift to it rather than updating an existing device. Very
unfortunate, but that is how things are. The Xolo Q 700, a very
popular model among TalkBack users, is not getting a KitKat update. I
have contacted Xolo Customercare about this. It would be good if all
the Q 700 users over here do the same and contact the Xolo
customercare and demand a 4.4 update. Perhaps it might just make a
difference.
Best,

Xolo launched the Q1000 Opus back in December last year at Rs. 9,999.
The Xolo Q1000 Opus is a dual-SIM phablet with support for GSM+GSM and
features a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display with 480x854 pixels resolution. It
continues the Q range tradition and sports a 1.2GHz quad-core Broadcom

5-megapixel autofocus rear camera accompanied by an LED flash and also
 includes a VGA front-facing camera.
