Because most of them use skinned Android and not Stoke Android. Skinned Android needs far greater customization than the stok version, and so updates gets delayed. And the other reason is obvious, they would rather produce a new handset wit hthe latest OS and encourage people to shift to it rather than updating an existing device. Very unfortunate, but that is how things are. The Xolo Q 700, a very popular model among TalkBack users, is not getting a KitKat update. I have contacted Xolo Customercare about this. It would be good if all the Q 700 users over here do the same and contact the Xolo customercare and demand a 4.4 update. Perhaps it might just make a difference.
