Well that's simple now as long as libraries correctly target .NET Standard
instead of Framework or other things :)

Mono - Do we have a maintainer?

2018-08-15 Thread Radka Janekova
Hi,

mono-devel packages are far behind upstream, and the mono-sig seems
unresponsive as whole. This leads me to a question, do we have a maintainer
for mono?

I can take a look at it within the next month or two if there really isn't
anyone else...

Radka

Hey guys,

I've been updating the dev portal to also contain .netcore stuff. This

Re: mono help

2017-02-17 Thread Radka Janekova
Hi again!

Jetbrains Rider is for free right now, as it is not released yet (it does
have a few bugs here and there, but it's bearable even for large projects.)
After it will be released, Jetbrains is known for giving out freebies for
open source, non-commercial contributors.
MonoDevelop is nice on Linux, however it is not cross-platform anymore,
mono is rather useless on windows, has lower performance, and loads of
other disadvantages - only very few advantages. And you obviously can't
write .NET Core with it. You can also take a look at VS Code for netcore
projects on linux. See the microsoft ASP.NET Core tutorial in which they
demonstrate it.

installation.html

Yes, we will be re-shaping that page to fit the new age of C# on Linux
within next few months.

Re: mono fedora integration and help

2017-02-17 Thread Radka Janekova
Steering the conversation towards MONO SIG mailing list:
mono@lists.fedoraproject.org[1] (Please subscribe to it before carrying on
and please leave the devel list out of further conversation.)

You can (or rather you should) also take a look at the actual dotnet
instead of mono, we also have .NET SIG[2] maintaining dotnet packages in
Fedora. If you would have questions about dotnet, feel free to ask in our
mailing list[3] or irc[4] (but please don't leave right after asking a
question - it takes hours to get an answer when people are asleep.
Timezones.) Or you can ask me off the list as well, i'll be happy to answer
any questions. You can install dotnet packages from our copr[5]

A bit of info what is .NET Core, since you don't seem like you know about
it - here[6]

And last but not least I would recommend looking at Jetbrains Rider[7] IDE
for your C# needs, whether it would be mono, netcore or aspnetcore.
