[MOPO] FA: 439 campaign books, scripts, signed stills, Danish programs, soundtrack CDs, pressbooks, magazines, exhibitor magazines bulk lots end very soon; lots of INCREDIBLE bargains!

2011-06-26 Thread Bruce Hershenson
Three times *EVERY *week we auction hundreds of items that sell for low, low
prices (we actually sell lots and lots of items for $1 and $2, and around
half of all that we auction goes for $14 and under (and those are pretty
evenly spread between $1 and $14), and our leading 'competitor
*NEVER*auctions even
*ONE *item for less than *FIFTEEN DOLLARS*, due to their *outrageous* $14
minimum buyers premium).

But Sunday's *439 **campaign books, *scripts, signed stills, Danish
programs, soundtrack CDs, pressbooks, magazines, exhibitor magazines, and
bulk lots, closing *THIS AFTERNOON* (not at night, like our Tuesday and
Thursday auctions), on *June 26th*, represent *REALLY* incredible values,
and that includes a lot of *really good* items, and yet many of these are
currently languishing at low, low, prices!

*MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE OF THE MANY OTHER AUCTIONS GOING ON RIGHT NOW (or maybe
some of the regular Sunday bidders are vacationing) BUT THE PRICES ON MANY
OF THESE ITEMS ARE SO LOW AS TO BE POSITIVELY INSANE!*

With just *8* hours to go, these *439 **campaign books, *scripts, signed
stills, Danish programs, soundtrack CDs, pressbooks, magazines, exhibitor
magazines, and bulk lots include an *INSANE *20 that have no bid at
all, a*CRAZY
*132 that are $1 each or have no bid, and a *MOUNT EVEREST-LIKE* 220 that
are still $3 each and under! *THAT'S RIGHT, AROUND HALF OF THESE ITEMS *
* ARE $3 EACH OR UNDER, AND THAT INCLUDES A LOT OF GOOD ITEMS THAT MOST
DEALERS WOULD ASK $10, $20 OR MORE FOR!*

*Some may say they can't afford to spend money on frivolous items like
these right now, but I say you can't afford NOT to, both because many prices
are lower than you could possibly imagine, and this opportunity might not
pass this way again anytime soon, and also because THESE paper items seem
far more likely to hold their value than our paper MONEY which erodes in
value with each passing week!**

[MOPO] OT: ot??? WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION..........SIMILARTIES

2011-06-26 Thread Michael B
does anyone see any similarities in the Casey Anthony florida trial and
WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION?

charles laughton told marlene that no one would believe the words of a
wife. so she became a witness.not for the defense, but for the
prosecution. then pulled a brilliant scam. ***

in florida, why would you believe a mother trying to save her daughter?
so, she starts out aggressively against the daughter. now she has become
WITNESS FOR THE DEFENSE, albeit, with lots of unbelievable testimony.

***great line from the film: she didn't murder him, she executed
him.

Sticking with Jack Cassidy and also the Debbie Reynolds/lost Hollywood
history topic, The Phantom of Hollywood is worth a view.

Hokey TV movie, but with some old Hollywood stars, and made
fascinating by featuring the crumbling sets on the MGM backlot just
prior to demolition.

Also includes footage of the 1970 MGM auction, featuring the pair of
ruby slippers that weren't kept by Kent Warner, (who I believe Debbie
Reynolds was a customer of).

Yes, Neil, you picked the best!! The combo of Falk and Jack
Cassidy, one of the most underrated performers in sho-biz history,
was dynamite!
Luckily for me, I saw Peter Falk starring with Lee Grant and Vincent

very sad.

he did an excellent comic turn in the underrated Robin The Seven

but if you're going to mark his passing, I suggest one of the early
Columbos that had Jack Cassidy as the guest star. The Spielberg-

Most know of him as Columbo, but he was at his finest in The In-Laws
(opposite the equally great Alan Arkin). He was one of those guys
like Walter Matthau who was always better than what he appeared in,
but it took a super long time for him to become a star.

I wonder if any of his films had Mexican lobby cards? I guess I will
soon know!
