I do not think it fair that you state this fact alone. This is for international shipping and the USA shipping is $25 and for as many as you win. These are not my auctions and I do not know the seller. I am only stating facts and not taking anything out of context. Just out of curiosity -- What do you charge to ship to the USA? Hi Claude, you're of course right, $65 is his overseas rate, but it applies to ANYTHING he sells, so that rate applies to an unbacked poster as well. About my rates: For any folded poster I charge a 7 Euros (US-$9.75 at today's rate) to any destination worldwide. This even includes a tracking number and insurance. I will ship a linenbacked onesheet (or any other rolled poster) to the US for as low as EUR 18 ($25). Needless to say, there ARE several more expensive ways I could ship, but I'm extremely cautious to use the best opportunity for my CLIENTS. Also, unlike many US sellers (and I do not mean the aforementioned seller here), I use quality packing materials, which I BUY, I do not steal them the post office. Not only do I not charge a 'handling fee' or a 'queuing at the post office fee', with these rate, I even lose a considerable amount of money on shipping costs every year. Then again, I write this off to CUSTOMER SERVICE, after all I consider myself a poster dealer, not a transport broker. I hope this answers your question. Hello, Claude, Helmut and MOPO, International shipping from the U.S. (and I presume from other countries) is expensive. It often matches the value of a poster. Yet a surprising portion of our business is now from International customers and often for modestly priced items. If we sell something over $500, I try to talk the client into some kind of expedited shipping. Last winter standard service to the UK was PAINFUL. Clients waited weeks to get posters. I understand what Dan Rickard (that is nick darard isn't it) wants to accomplish with his shipping arrangement. And if I were buying something from him, his shipping terms would encourage me to buy more than one item. Look at the total price if you can live with it and bid if you want something he has. He isn't really a dealer. But don't you, Dan, keep saying this is your last load only to follow up with more? Kirby Kirby McDaniel MovieArt Original Film Posters P.O. It is kind of weird isn't it?...he has hinted in the past (more than once) that this is his last batch...only to follow up with more for sale. Not sure what the strategy is there. And why would he lamely disguise his name? Dan Rickard / Nick Darard? Who is he hiding from? He also said he was leaving the hobby back in 2006..so this is a pretty long farewell. Didn't he also claim to be writing an authentication book? Whatever happened to that? No matter how you slice it his shipping charge is a bit highbut the no returns policy definitely will keep away a lot of potential bidders. David A. If Nick is a Canadian seller, then his shipping prices make sense, if he is shipping Expedited. Canada Post is VERY expensive, especially for anything shipped overseas. Expedited Parcel, starting at about $62 is, believe it or not, the cheapest way to ship overseas with a tracking number. Shipping without a tracking number and with insurance only up to $100 (Small Packet Air Mail) starts at $17 to Europe and is higher for other destinations. Unfortunately, Canada Post has no other option between Small Packet and Expedited for overseas shipping. Speaking for myself, however, I, like Helmut, consistently UNDERcharge for shipping, whether Small Packet or Expedited. I lose at least a couple of buckets on every order but it's the cost of providing affordable, reasonably priced shipping to my clients. The cost of doing business... Re: [MOPO] FA- RARE UNRATED JAWS 27X41 One Sheet Spaceship Style Clouds E.T...
I can say a couple things about Dan's shipping costs to and from Canada from the USA and other International destinations #1 Dan's shipping assessments are very high, no matter what destination. #2 Dan's shipping assessments, announced at $25, have completely stopped me from bidding on a single item he has listed since he started selling that stuff on ebay this year or last first of all, as concerns shipping, it is not supposed to be a revenue stream by itself. PERIOD! the revenue stream is the sale of the item. looking at the prices Dan gets for a majority of his items, I fail to see any reason for him to feel the need to get an extra $5 or $10 or $15 to pay for him to package and drive to a post office and at the same time, I wouldn't see the need for (what I believe is) overcharging for shipping even if the posters sold for just a dollar each. to be sure, I think Dan's shipping costs are, very simply, price gouging. But seeing as I don't bid on any of his posters (due to his shipping prices), that's between him and his buyers Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: lists...@listserv.american.edu In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.

[MOPO] Shipping!
Hey everybody! As Im new to the hobby I don't often weigh in with an opinion but I would just like to say that in my limited experience Mr Hershenson and Mr Halegua provide the most honest, reasonable and reliable shipping I have encountered since entering this awesome hobby. I NEVER!! feel like I'm being taken advantage of with regard to the costs and on top of that I always know that my items will arrive intact and as described This is more than I can say for some other people I've dealt with Well done Bruce and Richard All the best Johnny Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: lists...@listserv.american.edu In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.

Clearly, I believe that shipping is not supposed to be a revenue stream for me and when I buy stuff on fleaBay from some of these schmucks (like the one I recently left negs for) I am shocked that they think they're doing it right. Though we do hope shipping costs pay something toward boxes and packaging and even a little bit to offset the cost of employee, these costs should not be more than my own costs. If someone buys a poster for 99 cents and essentially, there is no income from that particular sale, it is offset by all the other sales that week. It's a package deal. I take the good with the bad, plusses, minuses or whatever else comes my way. Buyers should not get surtaxed in any fashion thanks Rich Visit the MoPo Mailing List Web Site at www.filmfan.com ___ How to UNSUBSCRIBE from the MoPo Mailing List Send a message addressed to: lists...@listserv.american.edu In the BODY of your message type: SIGNOFF MOPO-L The author of this message is solely responsible for its content.

[MOPO] FA-Unseen art for Grease-rare dancing version/The Wanderers-rare gang art/ Platoon-rare 27x41 kneeling down art and ultra rare WB STUDIO ISSUED ART ONLY FRAZETTA POSTER FOR THE GAUNTLET
The Gauntlet was a major release for WB at the time-they had their share of problems going through stars at the time until EASTWOOD stepped on board-Streisand was attached to the project at one time and oh what a diff film that would have been. Frank Frazetta was hired to paint the artwork that was to be used for the final one sheet and Eastwood went down with LOCKE to pick up the original art in person. Wb printed a handful of ART ONLY posters which were sent out to Branch Managers at the time as a promo-they also did this with Vacation (Boris) and Blazing Saddles (Alvin). These measure just over 27 inches by just under 40 inches and are quite rare these days. The Grease poster was a UK 1SHEET and is without a doubt the best art concept used for promotion for the film in my opinion second only to the advance one sheet. The Wanderers is an International one sheet that I have only seen once in my 15 years on EBAY so I think it's fair to say it too is a rare piece and makes the film more serious than it was. Platoon International Kneeling Down-Here's a rare one these days-you see the other printing without white borders which is very common around the internet. The full 27x41 one sheet is very uncommon for this art and is hands down the best art for this BEST PICTURE film in my opinion beating out the SOLDIERS style which I am also auctioning off as well.
